How we met ❤️

(As told by the bride)

I had met Darius’ sister a few times at different gatherings and we always had a good time together. One day she stated: “You should really meet my brother, I think y’all will get along!” I was like yea okay 😂 - laughing it off because someone ALWAYS thinks their sibling is good for somebody. This went on for a while of her wanting me to meet her brother. And FINALLY she stood on business. LOL. Her and my friend came up with a whole “blind date situation” and set up a date/location. We met for the first time and instantly thought: “We’re just going to be friends.” 😂 His sister and my friend REALLY pushed for us to be together and because they went through all this work, we were a good sport in completing the date. As the night went on.. I started to see that this guy was kind of funny. (He would say the same about me.) All night we laughed and had fun, yet in the back of our minds we’re still thinking: "we’re just going to be good friends." After the night ended, we hugged and went our separate ways. Later the next day, I received a text from him. We found things in common, especially with our love for comedy, and we never stopped communicating since. In time, he asked to formally date and every week that went by was filled with much enjoyment. 😊❤️

How I proposed

(As told by the groom)

Honestly, I already had this proposal planned out a month or two in advance. I told my sister and a few others about it -specifically of what I was going to do. I went and had the ring sized and that is what prolonged the actual proposal. Then when i finally got the ring, I made sure that I contacted my sister and let her know that: “This weekend will be the weekend!” Knowing the fact that she does not care anything about gems or minerals but my nieces do- I set up a presentation that I normally do with them. So after presenting multiple gems, I took out the geodes. I showed one specifically as a regular geode. Whole time, I was already on bended knee. Then the second one that I presented was the one that had the ring in it. When I opened it I said to her: “ And this one... has your ring in it.” She was shocked. Immediately she didn’t fully know what was going on, but when she came to, she knew that this was the moment that we’ve been waiting for!
