After matching on Tinder and talking over the phone for a few weeks, Malcolm and Courey met in-person for the first time on December 30, 2018. Initially, they were going to do the typical dinner date until Courey decided he wanted to try something different. They decided to meet up for a drink and then go to a Dave Chappelle and John Mayer Concert at the MGM Grand. In hindsight, this was a terrible idea as Las Vegas traffic was horrendous this night, due to the strip being packed for NYE festivities. They both ended up being late, making it just in time before the concert started. They were both frustrated and annoyed in a crowded casino until they locked eyes. (Probably not love at first sight, but definitely something out of a movie!) They nervously introduced themselves and then headed inside into the concert. After the concert, they decided to keep the night going and landed at Wolf Gang Puck Restaurant for dinner and drinks. They ended up talking all night long, like they had known each other for years. Though they didn't know it at the time, this was the start of their forever…
Malcolm proposed to Courey on June 1, 2025, during what Courey believed was a simple going-away dinner before their move to the DMV. Surrounded by family and friends at The Capital Grille on the Las Vegas Strip, the evening turned into a joyful surprise and the start of their next chapter together.
