We're Getting Married!!!

I first met Malew in Washington, DC, through a mutual friend back in 2015, and we became friends. We started liking and making comments on our stories on IG and Facebook; Eventually, we began to talk and our conversation got more in-depth. We were living in two different countries, but we felt a lot closer through our never-ending arguments, ridiculous jokes and laughs. After countless conversations, we talked about building a relationship, but we were both hesitant considering the long-distance, and we were both college students. YES! It was tough but we are so glad we gave it a shot. I went to Toronto in January 2017 to see Malew for the first time. I remember the excitement meeting this wonderful woman that I had been talking too for two years. The moment I saw her, I felt something so special; it was like the person I had always wanted. She is beautiful, kind, and funny. For the past few years, We had exhausted all the available communication tools, Viber and Face-time were used to the fullest:). We had made it possible to see each other often, and we both felt like we had been together for a long time, even with such distance between us. I realized that Love would travel as far as you let it, and it has no limits. It has been a fantastic journey from a 'hello' to a 'like' on IG, and here we are heading to a lifetime marriage. I am so excited to see what the future hold for us. With our "Six" kids. ( Inside jokes). I pray that God continues to bless us, abundantly. I love You, Malew. Yene Mar! It was a late afternoon on a Sunday, April 20, 2019, that my friend, Siye and I were heading to a graduation party, and it was to my surprise that I was walking to my proposal. I walked into a room full of people traveled from far and near- I was in shock and couldn’t move. I was shocked by seeing my friends and family in one house. As I follow the path inside, I saw my Tadios standing there waiting for me, and I felt all the emotions at that moment. It was breathtaking, and one of the things in life happens unexpectedly. He held my hand, and I remember what he said, ‘I thank God every day for having you. Malew, you are my gift from above, the way you make me feel is like a little child waking up at Christmas Morning that he has everything he ever asked for, that is exactly what I feel when thinking about you and our future. You are የኔ ስጦታ! Today is that day I been waiting for so long to ask you this question: Malew, My love, Yene mar. Will you Marry me ?” I said yes without a second thought. A yes, that I will never regret. It was such a beautiful proposal. You are my better self Babaye, and I love you now and forever!
