Watch this short video to get a sneak peek into our love story.
We met in high school in 2002. We realized we had a quite a few things in common: we both loved Leah, we both sung in gospel choir, and we both shared a mutual disdain for each other. We actively avoided spending time together until one fateful day when the gospel choir took a field trip to the Baltimore Harbor. None of our friends were there so we were stuck with each other. Agreeing to call a truce for the day, we decided to make the most of the situation. And the rest is history…
Our high school romance lasted a whopping six months, and we realized we had some growing to do. So we tried again in college, and this time we got it right…
We realized long distance relationships weren’t our thing. And with life life-ing from two different states, the distance felt extra long. Soooooo…we broke up. And didn’t talk for 10 years. Which was of course awkward because we shared a mutual best friend/sister in Leah; nevertheless, as time went by, it became clear that God was not finished with us yet.
We reconnected in 2021 and decided to reestablish our friendship. We quickly realized that these newer, more mature versions of ourselves were much better suited not only for a relationship but for each other. We made a cognizant decision to walk in love, not fall in love, and present day we are still walking hand-in-hand into our bright, beautiful future.
