His side: So it all started on airman’s week in basic military training. In the military we have a celebration on the last week of training called airman’s week. My top bunkmate was this dude named Martez Lewis, he was pretty loud and stinky and I didn’t really pay him any mind. Naturally we had casual conversation, but little did I know how close we were about to get. After we left BMT we went to tech school and became neighbors and those casual conversations turned into a friendship. One day I was in his room and his phone rang, I answered the Facetime, and there she was just as bright as the sun and sexy as she could be Sarah Dennard. Our conversation was brief because she called for Lewis so I handed the phone over. A few weeks went by and Lewis and I were now in Hands On Training. We had now gone from bunkmates to neighbors to now roommates. After working out one day I walked into our room to find Lewis on the phone with a familiar voice, it was Sarah. I remembered thinking to myself let me try and holla at this woman right quick. Now I’m so glad I did. Her side: It was the middle of August and I had recently discovered that my good friend Martez had enlisted in the Air Force and was fresh out of BMT. At first I was upset with him because I didn't know he was in BMT, I thought he just fell off the face of the earth because he wasn't answering any calls or text. But that didn't last long because we had like 2 months to catch up on. We would Facetime at least once or twice a week. One evening I was running late, it was late in the week and I realized I hadn't had my weekly call with Martez yet. So I decided to Facetime him real quick, but when I called an unfamiliar face answered. He introduced himself as Malachi, our conversation was short but somehow I just knew that wouldn't be it. A week or so later I called Martez and there he was again, Malachi Kersey, just as fine as he could be. I thought to myself this man is gonna be my husband one day... I was right!
