Forever & Always

People think that it’s too good to be true to have one of those movie-like meet cutes where you just run into each other on the sidewalk, but that’s exactly what happened to us. We moved down to Florida for what was supposed to be a six month stint working as interns for Disney in the summer of 2021. We were perfect strangers, but busy strangers at that. One day in late June, we were a bit distracted coming to and from our jobs that we quite literally ran into each other. Laughing it off, we exchanged information and hit it off. This internship was a networking experience at that, so why not make friends? Makyla’s birthday would soon be after, and even though we didn’t celebrate together then, we celebrated the best way we could, watching Ratatouille and admiring the giant paint bubble that had manifested in the brand new apartment complex that we both lived in. Maintenance had to come and cut a giant hole in the ceiling because some teenager didn’t know how to turn the water off of their overflowing bathtub. We decided that it would be best that during our next time hanging out, we should take advantage of our free tickets and enjoy the parks. This started a series of weekly adventures exploring Walt Disney World for everything it has to offer, finding exciting experiences everywhere. With a good friend by your side though, nothing is ever a bore, especially when you both have the same days off. There was something more growing between us though, but neither one of us really brought it up until one day we ventured over to Hollywood Studios and just sat down to people watch. Mixed within the sounds of children screaming and the smell of popcorn off in the distance, we finally started dating officially. We’ve been on so many adventures since then, traveling across the country to see new things and meet each other’s families. In fact, it was in California that we became engaged in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. Honestly, we cannot wait to see where the future takes us next, but we have a sneaky suspicion that Japan is just within grasp.
