Shane and I met in 2016 via a friend. We both had gotten out of rough relationships, only I had my baby to worry about too. Shane worked across the street from me at our former employers; so he came over on our lunch break for us to go for a walk and meet. As we walked and were both nervous, we decided to go out that night, with my boy. We decided to go to the carnival in town. We took Hudsen out of his stroller to stretch his little legs and he was absolutely drawn to Shane. That was the start of us. The second I saw him being so good to my son, I knew he was the one. Years passed and we’ve had ups and downs like all couples. Now here we are, about to share our biggest up with all of you.
April 3, 2020. We were working at the same place at the time and Shane asked me probably 15 times that day, “what time are you getting off”. Mind you, he knew this answer already. Throughout the day there were more texts of “i got off early today so i’ll get Hudsen, you just come right home after work” and “when you come home dont park in the garage, I bleached the wall and want it to air out.” So now the time comes for me to leave for the day, super annoyed by the way as he wouldn’t stop texting me the same things. So I get home, to the garage door shut and me, more annoyed, because he made it clear it was airing out. So, I go through the small garage and almost bypassed a note on the door. Welcoming me home and to put my stuff down and go to the next note. So I did just that. At the next note, our song “making my way to you” began blaring through the speakers. I then followed the notes through the house leading me to other rooms, the last being at our dog, Heidi’s, crate. The end of the note said to knock twice on the “big room” door. I nervously knocked and entered the room. There he was, the love of my life standing there, wearing his “Hudsen’s demo team” shirt I made for his first birthday. The table had a heart made out of orange rose petals, papa’s glasses and in the center, the ring box. He then asked me to be his wife. After saying yes and having a beer with my now fiance’, it was time to pick up, Hudsen. When we got to Amanda’s all the kids had signs congratulating us. After hugging my baby, best friend and my nieces, they took me to feed the piglets. It was the absolute best day of my life and I truly cannot wait to be, Mrs. Shane Miller.
