Our story began with a family introduction, a little fate, and Tanner having to work harder than he probably expected. Savannah knew early on he was special, but she made sure he worked for it. Tanner stepped up in every way—showing up consistently, putting in the effort, and somehow always making Savannah feel like she was the only girl in the room. After four months, we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend—and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Over the last 11 years, we’ve grown together, built a life we love, and added two very important members to our family: Mililani, our mini Aussie, and Ophelia, our Pit–German Shepherd mix. When we’re not wrangling dogs, you’ll usually find us rock hounding around Washington, happily collecting pretty rocks and soaking up every adventure. On Tanner’s 30th birthday in Cancun, Mexico, he planned the perfect surprise. Standing on Isla Mujeres with the city of Cancun in the distance, Tanner got down on one knee and asked Savannah to spend the rest of her life with him. It was a resounding yes, with her whole heart. As we begin this next chapter, we’re also starting something new together. After much thought and with so much love, we will both be changing our last name to Marciniak — Tanner’s grandparents’ last name — in honor of the incredible people who helped raise the amazing man Savannah gets to marry. Their love, strength, and legacy shaped him, and it means the world to us to carry that name forward together.
