As most of you know, we've traveled the world together and still plan to do so. To name a few destinations - Morocco, Spain, Brazil, China, and Finland. Some thought the proposal would happen on one of our crazy adventures out on another continent. Greg had other plans. It was only fitting for the proposal to happen here at home, right here in Virginia. Greg took me to a beautiful 100-acre historic estate and park in Richmond, Virgina called Maymont. Amongst the beautiful grounds at Maymont are several gardens, ponds, a mansion, and a waterwall. It was raining off and on through the day, but that didn't stop Greg. We strolled through and found ourselves walking down a path towards the waterfall. Having wanting it to be a private and intimate moment, Greg decided to forgo proposing at the waterfalls as there were several others around, getting photos by it. We continued to explore the park and walked around the ponds and gardens. Eventually, we made our way up to find ourselves alone at the foot of the grand stone stairs. Greg asked me to take a photo with his phone and as I was turned away, he was getting down on one knee. As we all know, I said YES! We initially shared our joy with our immediate families and decided to still keep it private for a few weeks before announcing it to others. We've waited a long time for this occassion and decided that getting married this year was best for us!
We're so excited to celebrate and join together in holy matrimony in the eyes of God, before family and friends. As most are located in the DMV, we'll be getting married in a church in Fairfax, VA. #MakingItRaynes
