*** WEDDING POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ***
We'd been friends for a while and often hung out together. After a Sunday afternoon A's game with friends, we decided we weren't done hanging out. We had a picnic at the park and talked all night. Our first date wasn't exactly intentional, it kinda fell into place. For someone who prefers to be in pajamas by 9 o'clock, I loved how easy and fun it was to talk with Steve about anything from faith and family to our mutual love for cheese.
Steve knew my longtime dream of going back to school to become a nurse. After a tough application process, I made the difficult decision to move to Utah to finish my second bachelors in nursing. For two years we've dated living in separate states. As hard as it was at times, we are incredibly grateful for that time (and for Southwest!!). It has given us so many awesome opportunities! We've travelled, camped, and explored beautiful, new places together. I knew Steve was the one when I could stand being alone in the car with him for 13 hours.
I proposed to Lauren at the top of Leona Heights Park that overlooks the entire Bay. We had taken the hike the week before and I thought it was the perfect spot, I wished I had the ring with me then. So, I started talking to Jill and we came up with a plan. A week later I laid out a picnic at that same spot with the finest cheeses and wine from all over the world (Nob Hill) while Jill and Collin lead Lauren up the trail where I anxiously waited at the top. I stepped out when she came up to the overlook, scaring her a little. But once she saw the picnic and my best man Lance hiding in a bush with a camera, she figured it out. I started to share about how I felt and was so nervous I barely remember the rest. Obviously she sad YES! Thanks to all of our friends and family who made this day happen!
