Five...four...three...two...one... HAPPY NEW YEAR! We met very unexpectedly on a very special night. Mutual friends led us to the same New Year's Eve party during our junior year in high school. My arm was taken, Brian was set up as a blind date for the hostess...but we were caught up in our own conversation nonetheless. It isn't every day that you meet someone and talking to them, laughing with them, and relating to them comes as easy as breathing. The ball dropped and we stayed glued to our conversation, cracking jokes and reciting stories. How had we never met before? The sun came up and we both went back to our every day, a little shook up and ignorant of the fact that we just met the person to whom we would one day say, "I do". For months following, Brian was the sole reason my phone lit up at 2am. Paragraph long text messages flooded my inbox, asking me to take a chance on him. A year and a few roadblocks later, I finally took him up on his offer. By that time, Brian had become my best friend...good or bad news, I felt the urge to pick up the phone and dial his number, before calling my mom mind you (and that is a big deal). A week into dating we made it official and the rest, they say, is history...
