In Junior High School Chase and I always ran in the same crowd. Our best friends were best friends (and now they're getting married too!) so it was natural for us to go to football games, movie theatre's and game nights together. We are both similar in our love for sports, our families, and constant laughter! In 9th grade he asked me to be his date to the school dance and the rest was history! Who would have thought 6+ years later we would be getting MARRIED!
We had decided to celebrate Valentine's Day this year a little different by having our date a day after the actual holiday. Chase kept expressing how excited he was for this date and that he had planned the whole day out for us and wanted us to do fun and adventurous things this year. He told me to dress nice for a fancy dinner but also comfortable to be able to play outside in (if you're anything like me you know that those two outfits DO NOT exist together!), so I had no idea what we would be doing which created an even greater surprise factor! He picked me up that afternoon from a friends bridal shower where he explained we had to go check on a location for his work. Chase works construction so it's not uncommon for us to drive by his different job sites. This one however was in Rogers out by the lake which took us an extremely long time to get to. When we arrived I was growing impatient because I wanted our date to begin so I was trying to hurry him along. He then explained to me we needed to go down by the dock to check some piping. Once we get down there we saw a beautiful picnic that he says we're going to eat at before dinner (he knows I get hangry if I don't eat for awhile lol). Before I knew it he was fishing around in the picnic basket and got down on one knee! Truth be told I have no idea what he said besides "Will you marry me". My eighth grade crush was now asking me to be his wife! This Valentine's Day topped everyone other one yet and I am SO excited for this next season :)
