Our Journey

08/04/2020

Grant and Makia first met in 7th grade at Harlem Middle School through mutual friends. They never had any classes together until Sophomore year. Grant was the class clown, and Makia was the quiet, shy girl. They didn’t talk much, but when they did, Makia was always laughing. They were usually around each other throughout their time at school until Covid ruined their Junior and Senior years, as classes turned into zoom meetings. All they had to do for fun was hang out with friends. Eventually their paths crossed again when Grant heard that Makia would be hanging out with his friends one night, and he knew he had to tag along. They spent the whole night together laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Within the month, they were hanging out consistently, doing all the fun teenager things, and he asked her to be his girlfriend. They have been inseparable ever since, and now they cannot wait to host a celebration of love with all of their favorite people!
