FAQs

We know planning a trip and getting ready for a wedding can be a lot, so we’ve gathered answers to some common questions to help make your travel and celebration as smooth and enjoyable as possible. From arrival times and dress code to food and lodging, we hope this section has everything you need to plan for our special day at The Barn at Water Oaks Farm. If your question cannot be answered on the website, please direct all questions to the Bride, Makenzie (850-730-0830)
Question

What time should guests arrive?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to arrive by 4:00 PM to allow time to park, find your seat, and settle in before the ceremony begins promptly at 4:30 PM. If you are arriving past 4:30pm, you will be asked to wait to be seated until after the initial precessional

Question

Where is the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

Both our ceremony and reception will be held at The Barn at Water Oaks Farm in Laurel Hill, Florida. Everything will take place on the same property, so you can relax and enjoy the evening without needing to travel between locations.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Water Oaks Farm. Cocktail hour will follow outdoors as well, before everyone heads inside the barn for dinner and dancing. The barn offers both open-air and covered spaces, so you’ll stay comfortable while still enjoying the charm of the country setting.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding will be semi-formal with a touch of spring elegance. We encourage guests to wear soft, pastel colors that complement the season. Think dresses, jumpsuits, or dressy separates for women, and dress shirts with slacks (ties optional) for men. Please avoid wearing white or ivory, as we’d love to keep those shades reserved for the bride.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! There is ample free parking available right at the venue. There is a large grass parking lot with plenty of space right when you enter the venue and a few handicap spots reserved if need be.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adult-only celebration so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

If your invitation includes a guest’s name or says “and guest,” then yes! Otherwise, we kindly ask that attendance be limited to those listed on your invitation.
