Have to? You mean get to?! Our venue requires a minimum stay of three nights for weddings so we are asking that if you plan to come to the wedding, you make sure that you can commit to all three nights. We are still working out pricing with the venue but please budget $250-350 per person per night, which is a great deal compared to their normal rack rates! Since Dunton is an all-inclusive venue, this price includes all lodging, meals, alcohol excluding their Reserve List, access to the hot springs, and more! Your cabin will be assigned by the bride and groom and booking info will be sent after July 1st. We know that committing to three days is quite a lot, so if you cannot make it work, we understand! Let us know and we would be excited for you to attend our "Nearly Newlywed" Party on September 16th in Edwards.
Great question! Due to the layout of the property, the bride and groom will be assigning rooms. Please let us know if you require any special accommodations. After all RSVPs are received, the bride and groom will send you booking instructions including cost, and how to contact the property to pay.
Each event has its own unique recommended attire, but we want you to be comfortable. If any one of our recommended attires is too much or doesn't fit into your personal brand, we get it! The most important thing is that you are happy, comfortable, and prepared. We will be in the high alpine so please plan accordingly with warm layers, a jacket for rain or snow, and shoes appropriate for dirt and gravel. Stilettos are not recommended. The wedding ceremony attire is cocktail, but feel free to make it mountain themed by adding a cowboy hat or boots! A full packing list will be sent out closer to the wedding with full attire suggestions, including mood boards to help you plan for each theme!
For our wedding weekend, we invite you to unplug and relax. While there is no cell service at Dunton, they do have wifi in the common areas of the property. However, with so many guests, they do expect it to run slow. We recommend that you do not plan any major meetings or need to download any large files while you are here as you may have difficulty doing so.
In the event that you would like to participate in one of Dunton's amazing guided activities or luxurious spa treatments, please contact Dunton directly to book. Note that their full-day excursions are not available during weddings. The full list of available activities will be on the pre-wedding info packet sent out with booking information after July 1st. These activities are not included in your nightly rate and will come at an extra fee. Reservations require a 72-hour advance notice. If cancelled within 72 hours, the full amount will still be collected by the property.
After July 1, you will recieve a welcome packet with everything else you need to know including booking information, packing lists, and more. In the meantime, please remember that Dunton is at almost 9,000 feet. What does this mean? Even those of you from Colorado will feel the altitude. One alcoholic drink can feel like two, and sometimes even three with the hot springs! Please make sure to plan to drink lots of water during your stay and be conscious of your alcohol consumption. Remember, the hospital is over two hours away. So please, help us help you by staying hydrated and drinking responsibly! For those of you who are not accustomed to the altitude, we recommend arriving a day or two early and exploring the beautiful surrounding area. One of the couple's favorite places to stay at in the region is Twin Peaks Hot Springs in Ouray, where you can visit Grumpy Pants Brewing for a unique experience!
