Eight years ago, Makenzie and I met when we worked together at Chipotle. The time we spent working together helped us grow from coworkers, to friends, to something more. We began dating shortly after in April of 2015.
Like Makenzie, the proposal was simple and sweet. I had just gotten home from work and Makenzie decided he could not wait any longer. Right there, in our kitchen, he began to say "it doesn't matter where or when you are, but it's about who you're with and the love you share." He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was caught off guard and was distracted by the gorgeous ring he picked out for me. I managed to respond by commenting on how pretty the ring was. Naturally he started to sweat with my delayed response. But once I came back to reality, of course I said yes!
