We grew up in the same town of Minot, North Dakota, but we never met until Morgen was a junior in high school and I was a freshman. A mutual friend introduced us on the back of a school bus on the way home from a choir competition! Morgen remembers telling me that I was cute and I remember having a major crush on him from then on. We rekindled at a Keith Urban concert three years later where we danced the night away and giggled together for hours on end. We both remember it as one of the best nights ever. However, I followed my dream of moving to a city to become a nurse, and Morgen was playing hockey and also following the nursing path in Minot. During thanksgiving break two years later, Morgen’s mom questioned my relationship status. A day later, I received a message asking to grab coffee together. I was already on my way back to Minneapolis, but we promised we would meet up when I was back in town. Our first date consisted of me watching Morgen play the game he loves most while I laughed at the fact that I had NO IDEA what was going. I sat with a mutual friend while she tried to explain the game to me as we discussed how ironic the situation was since she was good friends with both of us. That night consisted of a dinner date with friends, jumping dead cars, Christmas lights, fun games, and talking into the wee hours of the night (actually…morning). Both of us decided that night that we were meant to be and we were going to make our relationship work, no matter how much distance was between us. The rest is history! Since then, Morgen has moved to Minneapolis and we are both pursuing our nursing careers here while planning the best day of our lives. We can’t wait to become one on August 29th, 2020, and we hope you can all celebrate with us!
