We first met in a hip-hop dance class. Our dance instructor paired us together as partners, and as we danced, we laughed and enjoyed every moment we spent in each other's company. As we continued to practice together, we discovered that we had a lot in common and natural chemistry that grew stronger with each passing day. We started seeing each other outside of class, spending more time together, and soon realized that we had found something truly special. Now, as we prepare to exchange our vows and start a new chapter of our lives together, we look back on that hip-hop dance class as the beginning of our journey. We are grateful to our dance instructor for pairing us together, as it led us to the love of our lives.
Devon planned the perfect proposal while we were in New York City visiting some close friends. We decided to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and as we walked through the museum, I stopped in front of one of my favorite Van Gogh paintings, titled "Roses." Little did I know that Devon was getting ready to propose. While I was admiring the painting, he got down on one knee behind me, and when I turned around, I saw him on one knee holding a small box. With tears in our eyes, we embraced, surrounded by the beauty of the museum and the love that we share.
