We met during freshman orientation at the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota. Our class was divided into teams for a scavenger hunt. We had to download an app and take pictures of/with whatever it prompted us to. It was chaos. "Take a picture with someone who has a mullet" and "Take a picture with someone who has a mustache" were the first two on the list. "Who has a mullet or a mustache?" -Makenna (stood up and yelled across the auditorium) "I have both." -Dillon (also stood up and yelled from the opposite side) So we simply took a picture and went separate ways. We saw each other everywhere but still never spoke. We officially met through mutual friends weeks later and immediately hit it off. We started out exchanging homework answers. Then we started taking nightly walks around campus and lots of late night drives around Sioux Falls. We realized quickly we were each other's best friend and spent time together almost every day. We started dating on October 13, 2022. October 13, 2024, our 2 year anniversary, Dillon proposed. This is the picture we took at orientation:
