Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park is about a 40 minute drive from Whitefish or Kalispell. Highly recommend for scenic drives or varying levels of hiking trails. Park entry reservations may be in effect, please check the park's website to plan accordingly.
Whitefish Mountain Resort
Not enough time to make it into Glacier Park? Whitefish Mountain (Big Mountain) is another great option for hiking and scenery. Whitefish Mountain is an easy 15 minute drive from downtown Whitefish, or approximately 30-40 minute drive from Kalispell. Additionally, gondola rides, zip lining, tree-top ropes course, and alpine slide are available in the same area.
Whitefish Lake
Whitefish lake is only 5 minutes from downtown Whitefish, with a public beach (Whitefish City Beach) for easy access. Parking in the area can sometimes be busy, but there are many walking and biking paths connecting from downtown to the beach.
Downtown Whitefish
Downtown Whitefish is the main strip of restaurants, bars, and shops that are all within walking distance of each other. For breakfast, we recommend the Buffalo Cafe or Lula's. For lunch and dinner, we recommend the Bulldog Saloon (sports bar) or Blackstar BrewPub (rooftop access) for great bar food and drinks. For a more upscale meal, we recommend Whitefish Golf Course or Jalisco Cantina. All bars in the area are great, including the Great Northern, the Bulldog Saloon, Remington, and the Palace.
