August of 2015, Mel decided to send Benny a friend request under "People You May Know" on Facebook. Even though Mel didn't personally know Benny, she recognized his name because of a song collaboration he had with a mutual friend. Benny INSTANTLY accepted Mel's friend request & slid into her DM's. During their first conversation, Benny video called Mel not once, not twice, not three times, can't even count... & Mel ignored each one because she didn't have makeup on. Eventually, Mel finally picked up after the constant rings the next day (with makeup on) & Benny was happy she wasn't a catfish. That following weekend they met at Tilted Kilt with friends, shared some cringey dance moves & the rest was history.

May 18 of 2022, went on a 'polar express' train ride in Skagway, Alaska. Mel was enjoying the scenery & crisp air on the outdoor platform, while Benny & Mel's parents were trying to figure out how to get the lady next to Mel to move. Benny finally asks the lady if he can take a picture with his lady, & the instant instinct of Mel was to try to talk her mom into using her phone to take pictures, not noticing Benny was already starting the beginning of his proposal. Mel finally realized Benny was down on one knee with a box in his hand. She was shook, cried & forgot that she had to give an answer until her mom said something. SHE SAID YES! You could only imagine how nervous & scared everyone was as Benny's hand was shaking while trying to put the ring on Mel's finger on a moving train!!! But it made it on the finger (whew!) & they were engaged!

We had a private civil wedding in our city Las Vegas, aka the Wedding Capital of the World, but can't wait to celebrate with our loved ones throughout the year! What was supposed to be just a family vacation to the Philippines, turned into a last minute wedding event lol. And of course, we have to turn up with our friends & family in the States when we come back. WE CANNOT WAIT TO CELEBRATE THE NEXT CHAPTER OF OUR LIVES WITH YOU! See you all soon!
