Somehow after growing up nearly an hour away from each other, playing the same sports, and going to the same spots, Taylor and Sean did not meet until a sweet October Day in 2018. During Taylor's official track and field recruitment visit at Trinity, she somehow sat right next to Sean during their organized team dinner. Finding commonalities wasn't difficult, and the two departed Mabee Dining Hall, hoping she might just choose Trinity. Well, she did (thankfully). Fall of 2019, they were in the same sprint group, practicing together everyday. Just friends! They even played each other in a competitive game of beerpong at an infamous TUTF party with just a few moments of flirtation. The theme was denim. Totally harmless. The Spring of 2020 came and somehow they found themselves in not one, but two of the same classes. Sean may have found himself seated next to Taylor quite a few times. They had chosen the same field of study, just a coincidence. Then of course, the world shut down for a virus (what was it called again?). Seeing each other over Zoom was their only form of interaction. Of course, they got put into a group project, so at this point they exchanged numbers. That summer, they started to workout together with a few of their favorite Trinity people in San Antonio. Why not carpool? Environmentalists just practicing what they preach. Carpooling a few times turned into laughing over shared experiences, grabbing lunch, stopping for coffee, and helping Sean move into his new off-campus house. Taylor had a feeling this friendship could really turn into something after spending a late morning putting a shoe rack together and realizing how easy conversation came and how joy felt with Sean. Suddenly, the two started playing pickup basketball, going on hikes, and finding places to stop for a swim. Still some of their favorite activities. On an August afternoon in 2020, they were sent a text by a friend: "Are you guys dating?". Taylor and Sean hadn't discussed the technicalities yet at this point, so Sean asked Taylor to be his girlfriend. She said yes. Since then, the last six years have been adventure-filled. Sean and Taylor spent their Trinity years studying until midnight in the Lib, getting dinner together after practice, walking around the Pearl, and spending time with their respective roommates watching football and hosting get-togethers. They also spent quite a bit of time with their TUTF family. After Sean graduated from Trinity, the two began a one-and-a-half year long distance relationship while Sean continued his Master's degree and athletic career in Corpus Christi and Taylor finished up at Trinity. In the Spring of 2023, Sean and Taylor adopted baby Moose. Moose, a dog of an undefined breed, looked just like Scrappy Doo, and Sean and Taylor were smitten. Although naughty, large, and whiny, Moose completed their family. Finally, in Spring 2024, Sean and Taylor took roots in San Antonio, and they have gotten to spend every day together since. They love grabbing dinner at their favorite restaurants, taking Moose on a lap around the neighboorhood, and watching reruns of Law and Order: SVU; Peaky Blinders; the Bills, Spurs, and the Cowboys; and any critically-acclaimed movie Sean hasn't already seen. Sean and Taylor love the outdoors and to travel. They spend much of their time daydreaming of their next roadtrip. They have traversed the Oregon Coast, explored Big Sur and Yosemite, and spent countless hours in West Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. Sean's truck's odometer actually read ~10,000 miles when their journey began and now it is closing in on 110,000 after six years of roadtrips. On a particually rainy day in September 2025 and after a few changes of plans, Sean proposed in the same place the two had shared their first kiss. The two cannot wait to get married, spend the rest of their lives together, see the world, share endless meals, and find joy in every little moment.
