Keith had been in Kansas City for a little over a year before he was introduced to Makeda on Mt. Zion’s church steps. His cousin and Makeda’s friend, Adriana, had been trying to play Cupid for a couple of months and after some failed meeting attempts she finally had them in the same space. Keith played shy when he first met Makeda but didn’t let her get away, “I still remember where I was and what I was doing when I asked my cousin for her number. Life’s been great since…” said Keith. Their first date was a Sunday family dinner with Keith’s family Makeda explains, “I pulled up to this house in Wyandotte. I was thinking that there would be maybe 5 or maybe even 10 people at dinner. There were at least 20 people JUST in the living room!! There was so much food and it was all so good! He definitely made a great impression.” From there, their relationship progressed into more than either of them had ever imagined, thankfully!!! Since July of 2019, the couple have made a life together. Keith has completely stepped up to be a father to Camryn teaching her to ride a bike, coaching her basketball team, and enjoying scary movies and Chinese food together. “It’s been beautiful to watch, they really clicked instantly. He doesn’t play about his daughter!”, says Makeda. The couple was blessed with their son, Kross, in 2023. Keith says, “He’s an answered prayer. Our whole relationship and everything that has come from it has been blessing after blessing.” God has been good to the couple and they look forward to happily ever after.
