We met when I started Jerry’s. It’s quite funny that we are together now because, for the first year of us working together, we didn’t talk much. In fact, John Michael would say he didn’t really like me. In the summer of 2021, we slowly started to be friends and in August 2021 I asked to go eat together just as friends, and then from there it just took off.
My family had a vacation planned in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. For months prior John Michael had told me we had to wait two to four years until we could get married for various reasons. I had accepted that I wasn’t getting engaged anytime soon. The third day of vacation we had a hike planned to visit a waterfall. Although I had accepted I wasn’t getting engaged, I had a feeling it was going to happen. I kept telling myself to stop getting excited for nothing because it was only going to lead to disappointment. Once we got to the waterfall my mom wanted to take some “couple photos” of us and so as we were getting ready I saw the cameras videoing and then JM got on one knee. I couldn’t believe it at first. I barely gave him a “yes” because of how much disbelief I was in. Later, he told me he had been planning this since vacation was brought up all those months prior. I am so excited to now begin this next chapter in life. I will see y’all in January!
