Semi-formal attire and earthy tones such as burgundy, muted orange, apricot, brown, plum, and mauve are recommended :) For those who may want to coordinate and avoid wewaring wedding colors, the bridesmaids will be wearing sage green, emerald green, and eucalyptus green satin dresses whilst the groomsmen wear light gray. Our accent color is burnt orange to curate an all-around fall theme. Thus, fall colors or tones are encouraged but we do not expect any guest to buy a brand new outfit for one day :)
We would love to include everyone on our special day, but as you know, weddings can be quite costly. We kindly ask that you honor the names listed on your invitation, as the couple thoughtfully considered their guest list while working within the venue’s capacity. If you believe someone may have been unintentionally overlooked, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re more than happy to address any confusion!
Similar to the plus-one FAQ, please refrain from bringing children that are not specified on your invitation. If your invite says "The X Family" it is safe to assume all children above 13 years old are invited. Brayden and Makaylah tried to include as many children as possible at an age they felt most children would understand and remember the wedding. If your kid was looking forward to the big day but hasn't yet reached 13, reach out to Makaylah and she will personally send them an invite to her Bridal Shower so they can still celebrate with us :)
The ceremony will begin at 3:30 pm for those invited to our intimate ceremony. Please arrive, be seated, and have phones turned off BEFORE 3:30 (preferably no later than 3:15). Those who arrive late will be asked to wait until everyone has walked down the aisle to enter the venue as to not cause any disruptions. For those joining us at the reception, 5 pm is when the party will enter, so please find your seats at this time!
Yes! We are hoping to do the ceremony on the outside of the barn and host the reception inside the barn.
We appreciate all those who are traveling near and far for our big day! The best way to get to the venue is to input the exact address into Google or Apple maps. We will have a sign in the front yard to make the entrance easier to spot. We highly recommend carpooling if you can, as parking is limited. Reserved parking spots will be available for vendors and those needing a shorter walk to the venue.
Parking signs will guide you to the correct location, which is along the yard at the back of the venue space. Extra parking will be available along the long driveway and possibly into the front yard if needed. Parking may be limited so if you can carpool, you are more likely to find a good spot!
Yes! Fully finished men's and women's restrooms are located in the grain bin by the barn :)
As we all know, Midwest weather can be somewhat unpredictable so please prepare for just about any season as our space does provide options for indoor and outdoor celebrations. The barn is not completely temperature controlled so having a layer to add or shed is key! However, with some research, we have found that October 11 is, on average, 55 degrees at 4 pm in Northwest Ohio. There is typically a 0-10% chance of rain, little to no humidity, and skies are about 50/50 on clear or overcast. We hope this gives you a rough idea of what we can expect on the big day!
This will be laid out at the ceremony for you! We are going with a less traditional seating arrangement by requesting guests to sit on the opposite side of where their family stands. This way, the bride may see her family during the ceremony and the groom may see his!
Yes! Some of the couple's favorite wine, beer, and seltzers will be served to those who have an ID indicating they are 21+ at no charge. If you intend to drink, please have a plan set in place to make it home safely. As most of you know, Makaylah comes from a big police family so you will not make it far on the road should you choose to drive under the influence.
Due to venue rules, we will end the reception at 10:15 pm and begin tear down. Thank you for celebrating with us!
We found some hotels with 4+ star ratings within a 25-minute radius of the venue for those of you who may need to crash before heading home. The recommendations can be found under the "Things to do" tab.
Brayden and Makaylah are deeply grateful for all gifts, big and small. Their registry has been thoughtfully curated to include items they truly need. Since Makaylah has been living independently for the past three years, any essential items not listed on the registry are likely already in her possession. If you do not wish to use the registry, the newlyweds are just as grateful for cash or gift cards :) Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity!
For professional photos, Sami Farmer Photography will be who to look out for the pictures of our big day! Additionally, CMfilms by Claire will be creating a video of the wedding :) For photos taken by guests, upload them to the website listed at the gift table and bar counter (just scan the QR code) for all to see! Additionally, you may find the shared photo website under the "things to do" tab.
If this list of FAQs didn't quite answer what you were looking for, you may email the bride, Makaylah, at makaylahjayde@gmail.com. Due to being in a full-time graduate program, please allow her 1-2 days to respond to your email. After 2 days, you may kindly reach out again. If you feel your question is more emergent, you can leave a voicemail at (260) 223-7846 and she will get back to you as soon as she can.
More common questions will be posted here as they arise!
