In the midst of me being in nursing school, we planned a trip to New York City to celebrate New Years Eve with my mom and her husband. We were super excited because it was Zac’s first time to ever go to New York City and it is the BEST around Christmas/New Years. Before we left for the trip, a few people said “oh my gosh this would be the best time for Zac to propose, what if he did??”, to which I literally replied “he is NOT going to propose. He can’t keep a secret at all, so I would know by now if he had any surprises coming”. On the evening of December 29, 2018 we decided to go to Central Park and ride the horse carriages. After getting off the carriage my mom said “oh my gosh! That’s the rock from the movie ‘Maid in Manhattan’!!” We went on top of the rock that overlooked central park to “take pictures“. My mom took pictures of Zac and I while her husband was videoing (without my knowledge). Once I thought we were done with pictures I walked away, Zac grabbed my hand, and as I turned around he got down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and with tears in my eyes I said “YES”!! Everyone around us started cheering and saying “congrats!!”. I was taken completely off guard. I must say, he did a very good job at keeping a secret, planning the perfect engagement atmosphere, getting the perfect ring, and keeping everyone in on the secret without me knowing a single thing. Thank you to everyone who made our proposal the BEST!! I am forever thankful and I cannot wait to marry this man.
