Tre and MaKayla started dating on June 17th, 2016. Tre was 15, and MaKayla was 16. However, that is not when their story began. Tre and MaKayla met for the first time in the good ole church van. Alex Isaacson (MaKayla’s cousin) contacted MaKayla about a boy who lived a couple houses down from him who needed a ride to church. After going to church together and Monday night group, Tre and MaKayla started talking more and getting to know each other. MaKayla even asked Tre to prom in February 2016 and Tre walked away without answering (aka a big fat “no”). Tre thought that MaKayla was actually joking because he thought she was way out of his league! That didn’t stop MaKayla from continuing to show her interest in Tre. Soon they started texting more and more. They stayed up talking till 3:00 in the morning most nights. On June 17th, 2016 at 11:56pm, after an awkward lull in texting after they both confessed their feelings for one another, Tre officially asked MaKayla “will you be my girl” over a short text message (which he wished he would have done in person later on). MaKayla said “yes” and from there they created a God honoring and loving relationship with one another. Since then, they have had many fun adventures together and they couldn’t be more excited to officially spend the rest of their lives together. Although they have faced many mountains together, most recently having to say goodbye to their dog Shiloh, this has only made them stronger in their love and faith in God. Tre proposed on December 24th, 2020 during a fun family game night. They were playing the game Gestures when Tre was pretending to propose which soon lead into the actual proposal. They decided to get married in May to create a full circle effect on how their relationship started.
