We owe it all to the best man Alex Garrett, the one who introduced us back in high school. While things didn't last back then, they started over again in 2019 when Makayla slid into those DM's. One Memorial weekend a trip to Colorado to visit Michael was the start of forever.

What a story this one is! On a trip to Florida (that almost didn't happen) for a spring break trip before Makayla's last semester of nursing school, Michael had a secret all planned out. Completely clueless Makayla was thinking this was just a relaxation trip to decompress and spend time with friends, one evening Makayla got back to the beach house thinking we were headed to the beach for some sunset drinks before dinner. As she walked over the hurricane break she saw Michael standing on the beach with a rose petal walk way and light up letters spelling out "Marry Me". At this time in complete shock she turned to friends and said "Shut up, this isn't real" while Michael was walking her way. Walking hand in hand to the blanket surrounded by roses and candles Michael got down on one knee and asked "Will you Marry me?" At which point neither of them can remember if "Yes" was even said before Michael asked "Which hand does this go on?" It was truly the best surprise and the most perfect moment.
