Joseph planned a sweet picnic on one Sunday evening at Coffee General State Park where we had our picnic and then took a walk. When we were walking back, we stopped looking in the woods, and in that moment I heard my entire family walking down to us. He got down on one knee and said “Will you marry me?” Best day ever.

The typical middle school love stories with notes. My friend at the time, wrote a note that said “Do you like Makayla Smith, if so why don’t you ask her out??” After checking all the “yes” boxes, at the bottom of the paper he wrote “Ask her for me.” I still have the notes and that makes it so much more special.
