We’re married so lets party!

Friends and Family, It is with a heavy heart that Joseph and I announce that we will be canceling any plans moving forward to celebrate our marriage with a reception in Cincinnati in 2021. With the current unforeseen circumstances surrounding COVID-19 we cannot in good faith put our families and friends at risk with that size gathering. Even if case numbers locally start to decline, we are required to take into consideration that the Air Force has the right to deny Joseph travel time due to the virus. We know many people have expressed wanting to give gifts at our large wedding. We have attached the link to our registry for those still wanting to celebrate with us. (Gifts are not required or expected!) In the next few weeks, we will be taking down our registry and website. We hope to plan a celebration for our 5th anniversary when we are back in the states and COVID is under control. Thank you for all of your love and prayers! The Carmichaels

While Makayla doesn't remember it according to Joseph they met Sophomore year of high school. It wasn't until junior year when Makayla couldn't stop talking in class and had to be moved to another table that Joseph would catch her eye. Makayla and Joseph lost touch over the summer before senior year but Joseph never stopped thinking about Makayla. On the first day of senior year, Joseph switched groups just to hangout with Makayla. A few short weeks later Joseph asked Makayla to the Glendale fire department fundraiser to which Makayla responded "Are you ask me on a date, Joseph Carmichael?" Joseph nervously responded, "It doesn't have to be a date if you don't want it to be." Needless to say, Joseph Carmichael was asking Makayla on a date and almost 4 years later they're getting married.
