This little love story all began when Jacob's apartment lost electricity and desperately needed somewhere to study during finals week of his senior year (yup, sad). Makayla had not known Jacob yet but was friends with his sister, Shelby, through nursing school and Makayla just so happened to leave her nursing books at Shelby's place that same day! The two met and discussed each other's plans for the summer, not knowing they would potentially be working together at a summer camp in a few weeks. The semester flew by and it was time for the two to start training as camp counselors at Camp Kubena. Jacob technically was Makayla's "boss" but... who's paying attention?!! The pair became counselor sweethearts and grew closer each day that their dynamic was no longer kept a secret. Even the campers knew love was in the air! The summer flew by and camp slowly came to an end, but Jacob and Makayla held on to their new friendship and grew closer each day. The two eventually started dating and focused on centering their relationship around God. Jacob wholeheartedly supported Makayla and once she graduated nursing school, they decided to move to Round Rock where they would start their careers together and spoil their two french bulldogs, Peaches and baby Zumi.
