On that Tuesday, Makayla was bowling her women's league in Westby like she did every Tuesday. It was Carter's 21st birthday and he decided to celebrate at Nordic Lanes. He was in the bar with his brother. Makayla's friend Dina went to the bar to get Carter to come out to the lanes and say hi. Eventually, Carter came out and said hi. We were both very nervous but the following day is when we started talking.

Carter asked if Makayla to go out to dinner. We decided to go to Olive Garden. Carter picked up Makayla from the dorms and drove to dinner. We enjoyed having pasta and learning so much about each other. After dinner, Carter took Makayla to her friends house in Cashton. When sitting in the driveway, Carter asked Makayla to be his girlfriend. Makayla said yes!

While on our vacation in Tennessee, we decided to go out on a hike in the Great Smokey Mountains. After searching we found a trail that was not busy and had parking. When walking by the creek, Carter told Makayla to follow him back to a certain stop. Near the beautiful creek with standing rocks, where Carter got down on one knee and asked the big question. Makayla said yes!
