Maid of Honor
Maria is my one and only baby sister, hence earning herself the prestigious ‘MOH’ title. To anyone that knows Maria, she is my cooler and wittier half. At times, Maria felt like my older sister when she would help me put air in my tires, take my car to get oil changes, and turn on ‘Karen mode’ when I was too nervous to speak up for myself. She is my partner in crime, my rock and always has my back no matter what. FUN FACT: if you are within a 3 ft radius of her you will probably get roasted (all in good fun), and she does an awesome Miranda Sings impression.
Best Man
I never thought the random kid who cuddled up behind me at a birthday party would end up being the brother I never knew I needed. From that day on, Michael has been the one person I can always count on. He’s the kind of friend who tells you the truth even when it’s hard to hear, and somehow still makes you laugh right after. Having him as my best man isn’t just fitting, it’s a reminder of how lucky I am to have a friend who turned into family. FUN FACT: Michael consumes more caffeine in 1 day than the average person does in a year.
Bridesmaid
One perk of meeting Mark was that I got another sister! The first time I met Marina, she was visiting Boston with some friends and asked if I wanted to meet up (without telling Mark). From the moment we met, I felt as if I had known her for years. She has a calm and welcoming demeanor that is hard not to love. I couldn’t have asked for a better sibling addition. FUN FACT: Marina is Mark’s [older] twin and makes some really good Dubai chocolate.
Groomsman
David and I go way back to college, but we really got close during that unforgettable biochem summer class, somehow turning late-night study grinds into some of the best memories. Time always flies when we hang out, and he’s the kind of friend who stays true to who he is, no matter what. He pushes you to be better, keeps you grounded, and never lets things get too serious. Even though we’ll never agree on who the GOAT is, our shared love for basketball keeps the debates going. FUN FACT: His med school once featured him on the Indian student group’s Instagram page...they genuinely thought he was Indian, and honestly, he just rolled with it.
Bridesmaid
What was supposed to be me giving a friend of a friend a ride to church turned out to be the start of a lasting friendship (talk about a meet-cute, right?). Mariette has an energy and presence that is tangible, and a goofy personality that is infectious. She has been with me through some of the best and hardest times in my life, and has an insane ability to solve any problem she’s presented with. FUN FACT: though being an extreme klutz she somehow is a really good dancer, so clear some space for her on the dance floor!
Groomsman
Fady’s the kind of friend everyone hopes to have at least once in their life. I wouldn’t have made it through medical school without him. He’s the definition of selfless; he literally gave me his room for a whole semester and slept on the couch during my hardest stretch of school. If you ever need someone to listen, Fady’s your man. FUN FACT: At one point when we were living together, Fady completely gave up on setting alarms because somehow, he managed to sleep through all 12 of them anyway.
Bridesmaid
Jessica and I met through Mariette! Jessica is one of the wisest and most graceful women in my life. I can consistently count on Jessica to give me advice that is reliable when I need it. She has a sweet way with words, and banter so good she could make friends with a wall. I like to think that Jessica is so sweet because of her sweet tooth; after every meal, you can always count on Jessica to ask about dessert (talk to Marina M. about some Dubai chocolate). FUN FACT: Jessica has a crazy ability to fall asleep ANYWHERE.
Groomsman
Pavly’s one of those friends who makes everything better just by being there. He’s funny, adventurous, and always down for whatever random plan comes up, even if that means playing hacky sack in the middle of the night outside the world's most average donut shop. He's the kind of guy who keeps things light and makes sure everyone’s laughing; there's truly never a dull moment when he is around. He’s also the kind of friend who makes you want to be better just by watching how much he pushes himself to grow every day. FUN FACT: Pavly refuses to come home from one vacation unless he’s already got the next one booked.
Bridesmaid
Lisa is another OG that has been around to see it all. From annual Easter sleepovers where we would watch Rush Hour 1, 2, and 3 back to back to regularly scheduled hotpot dinners, she’s been with me through it all. Her easy and fun personality is always a treat to be around, and she has a distinct and infectious laugh that can be heard from yards away. I can always count on Lisa to bring the energy and good vibes, and it wouldn’t be a wedding party without her. FUN FACT: Lisa and I called each other spiritual sisters growing up because we were both baptized by Pope Shenouda on the same day!
Groomsman
Nick and I met in college, and he’s been a character since day one. If he looks like a mad scientist, it’s because he is — the guy literally has an MD and a PhD to back it up. His background? Syrian, Jordanian, Palestinian… it honestly depends on the day you ask him. What doesn’t change is that he’s sharp, steady, and one of the most reliable friends you can have. We also forced him to learn our Arabic dialect, and to be fair, he speaks it better than most Egyptians. FUN FACT: Nick can explain organic chemistry, but still won’t give you a straight answer about where he’s actually from.
Bridesmaid
There was never a moment in time where Anna was not part of my life. Growing up two streets away from each other had its perks - from having a bestie to share the bus with on the way to school to barging into each other houses unannounced when we had an idea for a new adventure around the neighborhood. I know I can always count on her to keep it 100% with me when I get carried away, and find a way to make me laugh in even the most serious situations. FUN FACT: she went to law school and can debate any topic.
Groomsman
Gego? Angel? Angaelos? Honestly, it doesn't matter what you know him as, but consider yourself lucky that you do know him. He’s the guy who always finds the bright side, even when no one else can. He doesn’t try to be anyone but himself, and that’s what makes people naturally gravitate toward him. He’s genuine, funny without trying, and somehow makes everyone around him feel seen. FUN FACT: Gego is a walking basketball encyclopedia; name a player, a season, or a play, and he’ll give you the full breakdown without missing a beat.
Bridesmaid
Nancy is literally the coolest girl I know! Funnily enough, we met on a service trip in LA, so having her be my side for our LA wedding feels like a full circle moment. From the moment we met we instantly clicked, sharing our life stories and belly laughing until we were out of breath. Now, Nancy is my confidant - no matter the situation, she has a rare gift of finding the good in everyone and everything. Nancy is also a serial reader, so if you talk to her be prepared for her to ask you what the last book you read was! FUN FACT: Nancy works on Wall Street and has a “fish guy.”
Groomsman
We met in college, and from day one, Daniel’s been the guy who keeps everyone on their toes. Don’t let him catch you slipping because if you do, you’re guaranteed to end up as a meme in the group chat. He’s lighthearted, creative, and has that unfiltered sense of humor that somehow always lands. No matter what’s going on, he finds a way to make people laugh and keep the mood easy. He’s the friend who reminds you not to take life too seriously but still shows up when it counts. FUN FACT: Daniel has an archive of inside jokes and memes so deep, it could honestly be its own museum.
Bridesmaid
Marina is one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is always so eager to help those she cares about, and will ALWAYS have my back no matter what (even if I’m in the wrong). She is a ride or die, and I’m so lucky to have someone so caring in my life. FUN FACT: Marina would quite literally risk her life for a good selfie or photo op; snap a pic with her if you see her!
Groomsman
Andre is loud in the best way — the kind of energy you hear before you see. He’s always “busy,” juggling a million things, yet somehow always available the second you mention food, travel, or anything remotely fun. He’ll never say no to a hangout or a trip, even if he swears he has no time. And with Andre, it’s never about what he says — it’s about what you’re supposed to magically interpret. He’s reliable, chaotic, and one of the easiest and most fun people to have around. FUN FACT: Andre might have more stamps on his passport than he does miles on his car.
Groomsman
Fouad is the guy you call the second anything with an engine even sounds wrong — he just gets cars on a level the rest of us don’t. He sets goals for himself and always finds a way to hit them, no shortcuts. He’s focused, driven, and one of the best examples of resilience I’ve seen, and being around him genuinely pushes me to be a better version of myself. FUN FACT: Fouad can hear a car start from across a parking lot and tell you the year, make, model, and probably how the owner drives it.
Groomsman
Daniel is one of those people you can vibe with almost instantly — it doesn’t take long before you feel like you’ve known him forever. He’s easily one of the funniest and nicest people I’ve met; the kind of guy who makes any room better just by being in it. I’m genuinely grateful for that New York basement where we ended up making way too many memories. If you want to have a good time, just make sure Daniel is there; it’s pretty much guaranteed. FUN FACT: Daniel could've been the next Messi, but decided to pursue medicine instead.
