Hog Island Oyster Farm: You might have heard of this place, or maybe it's time you did! This is the epicenter of Hog Island Oyster Co., a leading producer of certified sustainable shellfish. With 160 acres in Tomales Bay and 90 acres in Humboldt Bay, they harvest and sell over 5 million oysters and clams each year. Tony's Seafood: Hog Island Oyster Co. acquired and restored this iconic restaurant, originally built in 1948. It now serves as a slightly more "upscale" version of the Oyster Farm. Home to a whopping 400 locals, this classic California coastal town is definitely worth a stroll down its three-block strip. Be sure not to miss these stores: Toby's Feed Barn - Souvenir goldmine!! Loose Joints Records - A small, funky record shop with a pretentious hippy owner Point Reyes Books - Always gotta support the local bookstore! The Little Store - Small vintage clothing shop Old Western Saloon - A perfect dive bar
Go exploring
If you're up for some outdoor antics, head into Point Reyes National Seashore! Start your journey at the 1870 Point Reyes Lighthouse. Brace yourself for some steep steps and the windiest spot on the Pacific Coast. Don't skip the South Beach Overlook near the lighthouse parking lot for a view that stretches 'til forever. Want to keep going? Drive a short ways to Chimney Rock Trailhead (1.8 miles) for views of Drakes Beach. At this point you might as well swing by the Elephant Seal Overlook (.4 miles) for a peek at some fat, loud seals. On your way out, make a quick pit stop at the Cypress Tree Tunnel.
