It started how all modern love stories start, with a dating app. Kelly and Sam matched on Hinge (highly recommend) in March of 2019 when Kelly was in the thick of busy season and working crazy long hours. She was excited for her first Saturday off in months to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with friends and had plans to meet Sam the next day for brunch. When Saturday came, Sam couldn't wait to meet Kelly and asked her several times to come meet up, but she politely declined and said let's wait till tomorrow. Throughout the day, Kelly's friends began to trickle home but she was determined to stay out past dark when Sam texted her asking her to dinner. She said, "why not?" and the rest is history. The two spent the meal laughing and getting to know each other until the restaurant closed and then headed to a bar across the street to continue their conversations. The couple had flown down to New Orleans, LA for a quick vacation. Sam had been mentioning for weeks that he wanted to visit City Park while there, so the two dressed for dinner and planned to see the park before heading to their reservation. While Kelly was busy admiring the mossy trees, Sam was nervous trying to time out the perfect proposal and hiding a ring in his pocket. After trying to throw Kelly off the scent with references from Friends (her favorite show), Sam got down on one knee on a beautiful stone bridge and popped the question. Kelly couldn't even give him an answer before hugging and kissing him. He said, "Is that a yes?" She said, "Yes!" which he replied with, "Are you sure?" She of course said, "Yes, I'm sure!" and the two were officially engaged.
