Our Story

S/O to Max Smith for the Intro!

Hello Dear Family and Friends, Our journey began after the long period of isolation from COVID-19. At that time, I was finishing up my master’s degree at the University of San Diego with my close friends Brian, Max (aka Wnuk), and Chris. Throughout our year in the program, we often wondered when — or if — we would be able to enjoy the simple things in life again or travel to see our family and friends across the country. During that time, one of my best friends since third grade, Max Smith, who I hadn’t seen in over a year, was finishing his senior year at the University of Arizona. As the dust settled from COVID, a golden opportunity — much like finding a golden ticket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory — arose for me to visit Max in Tucson, Arizona. My original trip was supposed to be just a couple of days with another esteemed brother of ours, Soroush, joining the fun. I arrived at what felt like a desert oasis, filled with laughter, tears, and moments of reminiscing on the days we once took for granted. As Max showed us the local student bars and go-to spots, we eventually arrived at a dive bar called Frog and Firkin. I remember that moment vividly — as Max and I sat at our table, I saw the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on. The sun glistened on her face, illuminating her gorgeous green eyes that sparkled in the light. Little did I know that she would become the future Mrs. Majd. I introduced myself, and from that point on, we found ourselves sitting next to each other at bars and restaurants, effortlessly connecting. I knew she was the one when she asked to take a bite of my lo mein. As my trip came to an end, my heart was filled with both happiness and sadness, not knowing when I would see this stunning girl again. Fast forward a few weeks, and another opportunity to visit Max in Tucson presented itself. Without a second thought, I booked the trip (thank you, Mom!) — and it became one of the most memorable times of my life. Our connection was undeniable, though we both tried to play it cool, pretending we weren’t already falling in love. My initial four-day trip quickly turned into an 11-day adventure. During that time, we spent endless hours together, from our magical first date to late-night conversations about every topic under the sun. Once again, as I left, I wondered when I’d see that beautiful woman again. The following weeks and months were filled with flirtatious text messages, nightly FaceTime calls, and attempts to clarify what we truly wanted. I ultimately dropped everything in San Diego and moved back to Colorado, leaving behind all I had built, because I knew we had something special. That summer, we told people — including our parents — that we were “just friends,” though friends typically don’t spend every day together or have dinner every night. After months of our flirtatious friendship, we officially became a couple. From that moment on, it was history. We moved in together, built a beautiful home we called our own, grew through our early twenties, and embarked on a cross-country move to New York City. Our life has been filled with amazing adventures and loving memories ever since. I never thought I would get married. I’ve always valued independence and believed in building a life on my own terms. But when I met Megan, it never felt like I was doing life alone — we were building something beautiful together. I’m incredibly grateful to have someone who has cared for me emotionally, physically, and spiritually. She is the greatest gift God has ever given me, and I know I will love her more and more with each passing day. With that, I’m excited to announce and formally invite you all to our wedding on September 26, 2026, in La Jolla, San Diego, to celebrate our beautiful relationship in holy matrimony. Sincerely, Nav
