What started as a request for a party trick at Rutgers University in 2017 turned into something neither Harris or Mattie saw coming. By 2019, it had officially become a partnership, and neither of them ever looked back.
Over the years, they’ve built a life together, sharing two apartments, finding their rhythm in the everyday, and adding their miniature golden doodle, Ranger, who quickly became their new best friend. Through every chapter, big and small, they’ve shown up for each other in the ways that matter most.
On November 23, 2025, Harris asked Mattie to marry him at their favorite restaurant along the Hudson, Half Moon. What they had already built felt like it had always been meant to be, but now there’s a date to mark the beginning of forever with their favorite people.
