Question

How should I start looking for a flight if I want to travel to Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan, Philippines?

Answer

To start searching for flights to the Philippines, the best strategy is to look at major international airport hubs in the U.S.—specifically Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK or EWR), Chicago (ORD), and Houston (IAH). These airports typically offer the most competitive rates and frequent international flights to Manila (MNL), the main international gateway to the Philippines. For example, if you’re based in Phoenix, Arizona (PHX), your best move is to first search and book a flight from LAX to MNL. Once that international leg is secured, you can then look for a separate PHX to LAX flight. Be sure to give yourself at least 3+ hours between flights to allow for any delays and ensure you have enough time to make your connection comfortably. ** Connecting flights are going to be the easiest and most efficient way to book your flights, as major connecting flights will take care of your luggage for you without having to separately check-in during layovers. **There is only one direct flight from US - Manila -the only airline is Philippine Airlines ( PAL) - still recommend this if you do not want to have any layovers. However, prices are generally higher. After arriving in Manila( MNL) , you'll need a domestic flight to Caticlan (MPH), which is the nearest airport to Boracay. From there, a short van and boat transfer will get you to the island itself. (Do not book this the same day you arrive, as majority of flights in Boracay are in the morning and afternoon, and you will be exhausted from the long flight. It will still take 3 hrs to arrive at the main island from Manila)

Question

When & Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

Our wedding will take place on March 23rd, 2026. The ceremony will start at 2:30 PM at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish, followed by a reception at The Lind Boracay, Station 1 after the Ceremony. The wedding will be held on the beautiful island of Boracay, Philippines, at The Lind Boracay Station 1, Boracay Philippines.

Question

Do I need a passport to attend the wedding?

Answer

If you're traveling from US or abroad, YES, you will need a valid passport. The Philippines is an international destination, so please ensure that your passport is up to date.

Question

When should I arrive in Boracay?

Answer

To ensure you’re well-rested and ready to celebrate with us, we recommend that all guests arrive in Manila one day before traveling to Boracay, especially those from the United States. This will give you ample time to adjust and avoid any travel fatigue. If you leave the U.S. on March 18 (Wednesday), you'll most likely arrive in Manila on March 19 (Thursday), due to: -Time zone difference (Manila is ahead by 12–15 hours, depending on where you’re flying from) -Flight duration (typically 14–20+ hours with layovers) -International date line crossing (you lose a day flying westbound) We recommend arriving in Manila on March 19, 2026, and flying to Boracay on March 20 (Friday), 2026. –Majority of flights to Boracay will be in the morning and afternoon. Travel from Manila to the mainland in Boracay can take a total of 3-4 hrs (Flight itself is only 1 hr, but transportation via land and boat to and from the airport can take 1-2 hrs extra) - Please plan ahead. It can take half a day ( ex, Flight from MNL - Caticlan 9 AM - 10 AM ( 1 hr), but you can arrive at your designated hotel at 12PM due to land and boat transportation) **Please aim to be on the island NO LATER than the evening of March 22 ( Sunday) to ensure you have time to check in and relax before the wedding day. You will not make it if you arrive on the day of. There will be a welcome dinner for Entourage and the main Friends and Family only.

Question

What about the time difference?

Answer

Please be mindful of the time difference when planning your travel. Depending on your location, the Philippines is ahead of the United States by 12-15 hours. For example: If you're on the East Coast (New York), the Philippines is 12 hours ahead. If you're on the West Coast (California), the Philippines is 15 hours ahead. This time difference can affect flight schedules, so we highly recommend you account for it when booking flights to ensure you arrive on time.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

All venues will be held indoors, and it is still a formal event. Please stick to the dress code: Ladies: Semi-Formal ( No Mid-Dresses - Long Dress Only) Men: Suit + Tie/Barong +Brown Pants ( Strictly no shorts) Wear your best color! You will use this majority of the time. Hotel Shuttles: Most hotels provide free shuttle services. Please check your hotels for shuttle services. Walking: Many spots on the island are walking distance from each other, especially along the famous White Beach.

Question

Are children invited?

Question

What is the weather like in Boracay?

Answer

The weather in Boracay is generally warm, humid and sunny throughout the year. Bring swimsuits, and lots of extra light clothing.

Question

Answer

Absolutely! Boracay is a tropical paradise with plenty to offer. You can enjoy: White Beach: Famous for its pristine sand and crystal-clear waters. Island Hopping: Explore nearby islands like Crystal Cove or Magic Island. Water Sports: Try parasailing, Banana Boat, Jetski, Paraw sailing, kiteboarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, helmet diving, paddleboarding, etc. Your hotel can arrange excursions for you as well. Nightlife: Enjoy beachfront bars, live music, and a vibrant nightlife scene.

Question

Do I need to bring cash?

Answer

While there are ATMs on Boracay, bringing some cash for smaller purchases, tips, or transport is always a good idea. Major credit cards are widely accepted at larger businesses, but it’s good to have some local currency for smaller shops or local eateries.
