For a routine U.S. passport, processing can take 4-6 weeks, while expedited processing is 2-3 weeks, with an additional $60 fee. It's important to factor in time for the application to arrive at a passport agency or center (up to 2 weeks) and for the completed passport to be mailed back to you (also up to 2 weeks).
