San Miguel de Allende is a beautiful, walkable city with lots to explore! There are also plenty of excursions/day-trips that can be booked from the area, like going to Guanajuato city about 1.5hrs away to visit museums, el Callejon del Beso, or the statue of Pipila for colorful, panoramic views of the city.
