PJ and Maira met in a small Christian school where they sat next to each other enduring through the tough high school classes. PJ grew very fond of Maira but she wasn't really interested. Once they graduated high school they left to universities in different states. Maira went to South Carolina and PJ went to Wisconsin but the idea of them getting together didn't stop PJ in trying to pursue her. Years went by and they kept up with each other but they lived their own lives. Every summer they would make it a point to hang out together and catch up while they were back in Houston. The summer before their senior year, they were both apart. Maira went to Cuba on a missions trip and immediately went to Camp Chetek to be a counselor the rest of the summer while PJ went to Kentucky for basic training. That's when Maira realized she really did like PJ and he was stoked! They started to date in January, most of their relationship has been long distance which has made their love even stronger!
This day was one of the best days of our lives. We got engaged! PJ planned a full day of activities which would lead to an awesome surprise for me. PJ arrived at my house with a packet which contained 3 envelopes. I opened the first envelope which had the first clue-- let's go get my nails done! I met his mom at the nail salon and I had to pick a nail color that would go amazing with a ring. Because I knew today was ''The Day''. After getting our nails done, I received the second clue-- Build-A-Bear! We went to the mall where I met his sister, Amie, and she had a Build-A-Bear bear waiting for me from PJ. I opened the box and he had built me a bear with a soldier outfit on and he had recorded a message for me. I started to cry! The last clue was for me to meet PJ at a fancy restaurant in Houston. Then, Amie dropped me off at the restaurant where I met my future fiancé. We had an amazing meal and then we drove to his house. He told me to close my eyes as he led me to a room upstairs at his house. He had decorated the room full of Christmas lights and pictures of us. It was so beautiful! He had one final surprise for me-- not the ring, yet. He had written me a song! He sang me the song and he had me in tears! At the end, he kneeled down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I said YES! We're so excited for you to join us as we celebrate this very special day!
