Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Our suggested attire is Garden Formal—think smart suits and floor-length dresses in fun, summery colors and prints. Fellas do not need to wear a 3-piece suit. You can find a moodboard with some inspo here: https://www.cosmos.so/elalla/wedding-guest-dress-code The ceremony and reception will be outdoors on grass and gravel—so please rethink stilettos and consider wedges, block heels, or flats. Light, breathable fabrics are a good choice for a summer evening.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’ve thoughtfully crafted our guest list to include the people who have shared meaningful, personal moments with us throughout our lives. For that reason, we’re only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you believe there’s a special circumstance we should consider, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

Please let us know if you can join us by July 1st—the sooner the better!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

A few close family members have already discussed bringing their children with us. If you feel it’s necessary to bring your kids, please reach out to Ela and Mainul directly—we’d be happy to chat with you! All families that are bringing their kids must be supervised during the entire duration of the event as there is a pond and we would love if your loved ones were safe and sound.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be held outdoors in the gardens at M&D Farm. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for the evening in case the temperature cools down. Bug spray, sunscreen, and allergy meds are also a good idea—just in case!

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

We’ll have a seasonal (and halal), plated menu featuring fresh summer flavors. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know when you RSVP so we can accommodate you.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We’ve reserved room blocks at The Crowne Plaza Albany - The Desmond Hotel. Check out the Lodging page to book at our discounted Hotel Block Rate.

Question

If I am staying at the Hotel, how will I get to the venue, and vice versa?

Answer

There will be a school bus that will arrive promptly at the hotel at 3:50PM and will depart at 4:00PM. Ela and Mainul will have a list of guests that will be commuting via school bus. Please confirm with us prior to booking your stay at the Desmond that you would like to be on the bus.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Please let Ela or Mainul know if you plan on bringing your car as we only have a limited ~15 allocated free parking spots. We will encourage drivers to carpool with as many passengers. We’ll have signs and helpers to guide you when you arrive.

Question

How long should I be expected to stay?

Answer

Our schedule is shown in the "Schedule" tab above, but we encourage our guests to stay for the duration of the event which is from 5PM to 10:45PM. If you need to head out early feel free to do so, just say goodbye to us before you leave!
