What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Please plan to have your feet in the sand by 10:15am.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

No, please wear whatever you will be most comfortable taking photos in. If you need suggestions just ask Alexis, and shoes are optional on the beach!

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Early September in Michigan tends to be in the low to mid 70's, sometimes low 80’s. With our ceremony being close to the water in the morning, it may be cooler, so we would recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket with you just in case.

What if it rains?

Answer

If the forecast shows rain the morning of the ceremony, we will adjust the start time or move the ceremony to the reception location: Golden Sands Golf Course & Bucket Bar Not to worry, we will be sure to communicate any weather-related changes to all guests as soon as possible! Luckily our wedding coordinators are pros at handling any and all hiccups that naturally come with hosting an outdoor wedding.

Is transportation provided?

Answer

No, there will not be transportation provided to and from the ceremony. Please allow additional time for travel as there are summer events happening around the area.

Is there parking available for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is plenty of on-site parking at the Lighthouse and Golden Sands Golf Course & Bucket Bar. You will need to pay an entrance fee or have a Michigan State Park recreation pass to enter the Lighthouse park.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We want you to be able to relax and have fun with us! We've got professional photography covered. With this in mind, we ask that you keep all your favorite devices in your vehicle during the ceremony. During the reception, feel free to take as many photos as you’d like.
