Our Love Story

October 20, 2018, will go down in history not only as the first time ESPN College Gameday came to Pullman—and the best season in Coug football history (biased, of course)—but also as the start of our love story. At 4:00 AM the pit lines were long, the energy was electric, and after just a few Snapchat messages, we spent our very first seven hours together. The months that followed unfolded naturally, and after six months of hanging out, we decided it was time to make it official. We fell in love the same way you fall in love with being a Coug: effortlessly, wholeheartedly, and without reservation. There were lazy Sundays in “less-than-glamorous” college houses, breakfasts at Zeppos, and plenty of late nights at the Coug and Valhalla. We got to enjoy some of the best times of our lives surrounded by our closest friends—until Braxton graduated in 2020, right in the middle of COVID. That summer, Braxton proved to the whole Ryan family that he was in it for the long haul. We spent two months quarantined in Vancouver with 14 people under one roof, which meant very little alone time, plenty of darts and hot tub evenings, and welcoming Kallie’s first baby. Since then, we’ve built our life together in Central Oregon; one full of adventure, love, and a couple of cute pups. Braxton learned to ski in Bend, while Maille is still working on her golf game. We’ve loved traveling—sometimes to see family, sometimes just to discover new places—anywhere as long as we’re together. In January 2025, Braxton finally proposed (a moment many had been waiting for). While our true forever officially begins this June, it feels like we’ve been building it since that very first day. We can’t wait to celebrate with you. Go Cougs!
