Mailee and Dan met during the summer while working for a ferry company in Mackinaw City. She worked on the boats, and he worked on the docks. On Mailee’s very first night there, they ended up at the same bonfire, started talking, and pretty much never stopped. As summer wrapped up and Mailee prepared to head back to college, Dan asked her on August 1st if she wanted to make it official. She said yes. They spent the next few years navigating long distances. At times, they were living across the state, the country, and even the world, so they always made the most of school breaks, working seasonal jobs together at a golf and ski resort. In December 2024, Mailee graduated and moved to Marquette, partly because she loved the area, mostly because she loved Dan. Now, on their fourth anniversary, they’ll be getting married, in the place where they fell in love, with their closest friends and family by their side.
