We have known each other for many years. We grew up in the same church and served in the same ministries: youth and praise and worship. We later became co-workers at Tundra Lodge Resort and Hotel. He was a lifeguard and I was an arcade attendant. We always had a strong mutual friendship but it wasn't until the Winter of 2014 when Sai asked me to be his girlfriend and that was the start of our relationship.

The week leading up to December 20th 2020, Sai was teasing me with a small “ring” box and he would ask me to marry him through facetime. I would tease him back and say “Yes! I’ll marry you right now.” On Sunday December 20th, it started off pretty normal, we attended church and had lunch together. He wanted to go to our “secret” walking trail to take some pictures. As we were walking, Sai started to look a little suspicious, he kept looking around and kept touching his phone. We stopped in the middle of the trail, he set his phone down and we took some “pictures” together. After our third “picture” he looked at me and asked me if I wanted to marry him. At that moment, I wasn’t sure if he was joking or if he was serious, so I told him to stop and I walked away. He pulled me back and got down on his knees and asked me to marry him! I couldn’t speak and just nodded. We checked his phone to see if he recorded the proposal, he did, but he accidentally recorded the proposal in ‘time-lapse’! Both of our families had no clue about the proposal, so for Christmas we surprised our family with our engagement!
