In Fall of 2018, Maileca and Steven were both attending their first quarter at Seattle Pacific University. Maileca as a freshman nursing student and Steven as a transfer Visual communications student. Only through Gods plan did Steven end up in Maileca’s organization group. Because unknown to Steven, all the groups were based on what class the freshman were taking while the transfer students were placed randomly. That class? Pregnancy and childbirth. The orientation leader was quite confused when she saw Steven confidently walking up to their group. A group comprised of only girls. During the orientation Maileca and Steven got to know each other while working on a service project to clean up a park in Seattle. They found that they connected instantly and later would work together as photographers for the school paper.

It's been a few years of winding road to lead to this point. After meeting at SPU and becoming fast friends. The first quarter they would walk up the hill and drop Maileca off at her Hall after newspaper meetings. They would talk and slowly build a friendship, but after that first quarter Steven stopped working on the newspaper and they would just run into each other around campus. Steven ended up transferring out of SPU after that year but they kept in touch and slowly got closer as friends. After another a few years they decided to go on date to a corn maze and grab dinner. From then on God has worked in both of their lives, through long distance, highs and lows, hardships and joys, and through it all helped them grow closer to each other and him. The day finally came for Steven to get down on one knee and ask Maileca to Marry him. To which she said: Maileca: "Are you proposing?! No, no, no." Steven: "You're not supposed to say that... will you Marry Me?" Maileca: *Nods head and holds out her hand Steven: "I'm going to need a verbal response" Maileca "Yes" And so they were engaged and started the wedding planning process. ----------------------------------------------- Through the years they've been bless by family, friends, and a beautiful Golden Retriever and are excited to build a new life together. They can't wait to be married and to share the special day with all their loved ones. We are so excited and looking forward to seeing you all on our wedding day!
