On August 12, 2022, Nick and Sean were at Bourbon Street celebrating a mutual friends birthday. A Taylor Swift cover band was playing and the two got to talking. Between shots of Jameson, lots of laughs were shared, and a love story was beginning to unfold.

In November of 2023, a little bundle of joy was ready to bless Nick and Sean. They didn’t know it yet, but their baby would show them a deeper form of love they had never known. On July 24, 2024, Isla Jean Maida made her debut and the couple fell in love all over again, with each other, and with their sweet little girl.

Shortly after Isla Jean was born, Nick already had another plan in mind. On August 12, 2024, exactly two years after that fateful night at Bourbon Street, Nick approached Sean. Out of his pocket he drew a velvet red box, asked Sean to marry him, and she of course, said YES.

For years, Sean has said she wanted to be proposed to with a gold ring her Gigi, Grandma Jean, had. There were three diamonds on it, a larger center stone and two small side stones. After their engagement, the couple wanted to create a ring using these diamonds but make it their own. It also meant a great deal to them to include their daughter in this special moment, and that’s exactly what they did. On Sean’s engagement ring lays the two smaller diamonds from her grandmothers ring. A pendant was made with the larger stone for Isla Jean as a symbol of the love her parents share for each other, her, and the lifetime ahead of them.
