Stephen and I met through a mutual friend (Kenny) at Mount Saint Mary College in 2013. I was a graduating senior and Stephen was a junior. Stephen, Kenny and I would meet up for lunch multiple times a week. In the summer of 2014, Stephen and I became best of friends; it turned out we actually lived only a few minutes from each other! We would often drive together to visit our friend in Long Island (naturally, Stephen was forced to listen to hours upon hours of Taylor Swift). Stephen became someone I knew I could always rely on, trust, and look for as a comic relief. After years of being friends, I finally got the courage to ask Stephen out on a date. He said no.... I knew the next time I would ask him out, I was not taking "no" for an answer. In June 2016, he finally agreed to meet me at the movie theater in the pouring rain and we finally went on our first date! Flash forward through years of FAKE proposals and awkward public situations to April 2020. While in quarantine, Stephen passed the time by fake proposing to me every day for a week. On Saturday, April 18, 2020, as I was putting the laundry away, he called me to come into the kitchen. I thought to myself, "here we go again with another fake proposal." However, this time was different. This time he actually had a ring! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! The rest is history! Stephen and I are beyond excited to start this new chapters of our lives! See you on July 31st!
