In respect of Japanese customs, we kindly ask all guests to wear formal attire. As the ceremony will take place in a shrine, please dress modestly - similar to a church wedding. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us show respect to the traditions and setting of our special day.
The wedding ceremony and reception will take place indoors. The wedding ceremony will take place at the temple, just a short walk across the iconic Kintaikyo Bridge from the hotel.
We highly recommend setting up an international phone plan before traveling to Japan. It will make navigating train routes, stops, and schedules much smoother throughout your trip. Japan’s train system is incredibly efficient but can be very overwhelming to figure out, especially with transfers between lines. Having an international plan with reliable data will allow you to use navigation apps for step-by-step directions on where to board and get off, making your travels much easier and stress-free.
Travel in Japan involves a fair amount of walking and stairs, which can make managing your luggage more difficult. Luckily, you have the option to send your larger luggage ahead to your final or next destination for an additional fee. The Iwakuni Kokusai Kanko Hotel, where we will be staying first, provides this service. Just be sure to keep your receipt, which you'll need to present when collecting your luggage at your destination.
A Japanese onsen is a natural hot spring bath, which offers a relaxing experience deeply rooted in Japanese culture. Onsen's are typically separated by gender and guests typically bathe nude. Please be aware that tattoos and bathing suits are NOT allowed in Japanese onsen's, so we please kindly ask you to respect this custom.
